This is a review about Victorinox dual-knife sharpener. How to sharpen a pocket knife? How to sharpen a Swiss army knife? The Victorinox knife sharpener test has a ceramic notch and a grinding stone. It's a lightweight-, pocket knife sharpener review. Victorinox Dual-Knife field Sharpener. How to sharpen a knife? Follow 4 easy steps. Great video! Now let's do one on victorianox nail cutter and try clipping your nails and tell us how it feels.
Nice work 👍🏻
I had no idea how to use the ceramic part. Thanks for explaining so well😊
Great video! Thanks.
You arent even getting full strokes in! Without running the entire blade on the stone there is no way youre getting that sharp!
I bought it. Useless.
Good Video. Gonna order this today 👍🏼
Can 3mm thick blade fit into the notch? Can you sharpen carbon steel blades with this sharpener?
So how much is the grit level of this sharpener? 400, 1000, 3000... 8000...?
Mr sharp i know i am commenting over a year when you posted this but you helped me to learn how to sharpen a knife on the victorinox sharpener, its cheap (15€) and yeah thank you
Hi, and about lifetime's stone sharpener ? thanks
common why evrybody useing it in the opposite way? i make my knife sharp with the rod part and with the v shape ceramic part u just make it wors and more dull.......but the v shape part can reprofile ur blade and wit a few strike on the rod u can make it even sharper.
Would this sharpener be OK for larger knives? Have a victorinox santoku and just got gifted this sharpener
Just bought 1 the other day and used it on a knife then dropped it & the stone broke in 3 pieces. Just got my second one and will not be dropping this one.
Do you find it is a bit more difficult to sharpen the very tip?
Yes it's not ideal for EDC use, but it's the best and compact sharpener you have in your backpack
Good grief, I've owned once for about 3 years, never heard it call a "dual" sharpener so didn't know about the ceramic sharpener in the lid!! :) NOW I can get them sharp, thanks :)
Come si pulsce lafilatore.
Ma si usa a secco o con acqua? Fammelo sapere.
One thing that I do is to use the ceramic notch until the blade glides on it so I know for sure that is perfect
How do you hold a consistent 20 degrees? This is the bit I can never do.
I only lock my wrist and i see how the edge falls on the sharpener
Usually, these kind of sharpener stones are used with water. (By making it wet first, then applying the knife to the wet sharpener). Why don't we use this one with water? It is not common to sharpen knives dry.
Beautiful job!! Thank you!
During my service I used to simply sharpen my pocket knives against the very smooth and shiny blade of my bayonet every time I used it. It was razor sharp as long I did this.
Does it bring back factory sharpness?
Not really but it's still the best fieldsharpener 👍😊👊
Actualy after i am sharpening with the stone part is always sharper than after i am pulling down with the ceramic blades. So the ceramic part just make it duller than the stone. So after the stone u are just ruining.
Just lightly run it across once or twice to remove burrs I have seen the ceramic blades used to sharpen serrated blades I am not sure how effective it is though.
Great little thing, it's been in my pocket for more than 12 years. Don't bother with V notch, just strop a higher angle on the thinner sides. Also, not really suitable for super steels (takes way too long to get any results).
Yes Sir. I totally agree with you. It's a fieldsharpener. The best sharpener is the one you have with you👊🧑🎄👍
I feel stupid saying this I’ve been trying to sharpen my Swiss champ and Swiss work and it just gets worse. It’s th 20 degree angle but still I just can seem to get it I don’t know why ?
Without seeing the condition that your blades are in and how you're using the sharpener, it's difficult to diagnose the problem, but I'm an experienced knife sharpener and I can confirm that this Victorinox tool is quite effective if used properly. However, all sharpening requires practice, and it took me a long time to get to a point where I felt fully skilled with several different methods, including oilstones, the Lansky fixed-angle system, diamond and ceramic rods, leather strops, honing steels etc. The best thing I can suggest is maybe finding someone local to you who is skilled at sharpening, and getting some advice or a demonstration from them - maybe a butcher or a woodworker? If that's not possible, then look at more videos, keep practicing, and maybe try a different system. This pen sharpener is fine, but it's really best for quick touch-up sharpening - for creating a whole new edge, you might do better with a Lansky kit or similar, then using the pen sharpener to maintain the edge. I hope this is helpful advice.
It could be you are sharpening at too steep an angle? - you might need to reprofile the edge.
Thank you for sharing.
Totally my pleasure 👊😊👍
How much sir your sharpener victorinox?
About 15 dollar 👊😊👍
You think it will work for any knife?
For smaller blades Yes👊😃👍
Isn't honing the last step?
Can you make a video on how to sharpen a serrated victorinox knife like the skippet pro with this sharpener? I want to buy the skipper pro but don't know how i would sharpen it
I tried a Wheatstone and it’s was ok but not great. Tried this and it works great!!
I wish it came with a way to stand it up (maybe a notch the fine sharpener could fit into) so it could do gravity fixed-angle sharpening like the sharpmaker.
Great idea 👍😃👊
Wow, I had one before..and didn't know that the ceramic side can slip into the handle. Nice tips. Gonna get a new one..
Thanks 👍 it's a great fieldsharpener for sure. 👍😄👊
Thanks @MrSharp for an easy to follow guide, I've just been given an early valentines Swiss Army knife and it's been so relaxing just sharpening it up with the Victorinox. It's slicing through paper like butter now 😁👍
Thanks for your support Daniel👍😃👊 much appreciated 👍
Thanks new subscriber ✌🏻
Cool
I really don’t know what goes on here, but the V ceramic notch kills the blade edge when I use it.
yeah exactly same. maybe the ceramic part is for repairing small bends and hone the blade once damaged?
Use a light touch. Pressure will dull the knife.
My experienc is with the stone part i can scharpening it sharper than woth the ceramic disc part that make just doll again
is it better than carbide sharpener.?
Hey thanks for tuning in 👍 i have no idea because i don't have a carbide sharpener. Cheers 👋
Can it be used for blades longer than 22cm?
It's possible but i wouldn't reccomend it. 👊😉👍
Magkano ung victorinox sharpiner mo sir?
🤣
Welcome 👊😃👍
Mr sharp I've been using the victorinox dual knife sharpener for many years now and it's all i use I've got a few of them and I've even cut one of those in half for my EDC and it works perfect with my work knife the victorinox fieldmasder fantastic little bit of kit don't forget to keep it sharp my friend 👊✌️👍
Hello William🖐Yes i think every sak owner should have one. i'm glad that i gave it another chance, because i didn't expect this result. I also had it for years. My first experience with it, was reprofiling a bevel and that wasn't a good idea at all. it's great for lining the edge and to keep it sharp, not really for reprofiling. That's what i learned about it. *Thanks again for your support* 👍 Greetings 🖐
💯% Well at least you won't forget to keep it sharp my friend 😂🤣👊✌️👍
@@name5949 Thanks buddy!
You can buy a compact sharpening stone made for guided systems instead. It can be both better and cheaper.
Great tip!👍 Thanks for sharing your tips. Much appreciated. Cheers Bart 👋
Another good video, thanks or your efforts. I am a fan and collector of Swiss Army knives both Victorinox & Wenger. I sure wish Victorinox since they are the only one left would create more new and varied models. Wenger came up with many interesting & unique tools, is it not time for Victorinox to follow suit.
*Thanks a lot for your support!* 👍 I bet Victorinox and the Délémont collection will keep on innovating with specialized saks and special editions. So we can collect for ever and ever, not?🙃👍 Cheers, Bart 🖐
I have one of these and carry it with me to touch up the blade when out camping . Great video 👍😎
*Thanks Jay* !👍 it's perfect for camping an light weighted too. Cheers, Bart👊😀👍
I also have this sharpener for on the go. Great tool, works wonders
@@wayofthesamurai90 I think I have had two or three of these. Got my first one in 1978. They are very handy to have around.
